Every two to four weeks, apply a small amount of leather conditioner (we recommend a shea butter or beeswax-based product) using a soft cloth. Work it in with circular motions, then buff to a gentle shine. For a deeper shine, follow conditioning with a polish that matches the leather color. Allow the shoes to dry naturally — never near direct heat. Use cedar shoe trees after every wear. They absorb moisture, reduce creasing, and hold the shape of the last.

How the foot is measured

Foot Length (cm) Longest point — from the tip of the big toe to the back of the heel. This is the measurement used in the size chart.

Sole Width (cm) Widest point of the forefoot. Our last is built for a standard D-width fit.

Place foot on paper

Stand barefoot on a flat sheet of paper. Keep your weight evenly distributed — the foot spreads slightly under load, which gives a more accurate measurement.

Mark both ends

With a pencil, mark the furthest point of your longest toe and the rearmost point of your heel. Keep the pencil vertical against the foot for accuracy.

Measure in centimeters

Measure the straight distance between the two marks. Use a ruler, not a tape measure, to avoid any curve in the measurement.

Find your size

Match your measurement to the Foot Length column in the chart above. The corresponding US size is your Lignarolo size.

The manufacture of high quality Blake Stitched shoes remains very labor-intensive, requiring a highly skilled workforce to carry out more than 200 separate operations during an 8 week period. This method, originated by hand-makers centuries ago, gives the shoes an exceptional degree of strength, durability and comfort in wear.

Lignarolo has been manufacturing shoes in Bogotá, Colombia since 1946 and although the production process has evolved since the early days of shoemaking, much of the factory looks just as it did when it was first built.
